Though the world slowed down in March and started to wake up to a new way of being, it didn’t slow down the drama. Like the ocean, the drama came in waves. Some fiercer than others, while some were slow, calm, and soothing.
In the beginning, though somewhat shaken, the world seemed to be open and almost welcoming to a slower pace and way of living. However, as Covid19 seems to linger, society is starting to not like this new reality.
Change is inevitable, but rarely is it welcomed, especially when we aren’t in control of the changes that are taking place.
What Can You Do?
Can you look beyond the horizon and allow yourself to see that there is a benefit to everything that unfolds in your life?
What wisdom can you draw on that will keep you connected to the source within you, that is you, and trust that in some possible bizarre way, that life is still working out for you?
Depending on which wave you’re riding right now, it might be challenging for you to see beyond what is present. Or it may be that you’re in a place where you’re able to see the beauty that is presenting.
Quiet the mind.
Nature has a beautiful way of nurturing the soul. Step outside. Breathe in the magnificence that surrounds you.
Go for a walk in the park. If you’re fortunate enough to live by the ocean or a lake, take a stroll and breathe in the fresh air.
Unplug from social media, if only for 30-60 minutes. Instead, grab a notebook and write down some thoughts about what you’re seeing. Flowers, trees, birds, and bees, but let’s not forget the feel of the breeze or sun.
Nature offers an abundant supply of resources to aid in the calming and quieting of the mind.
Let this be a time of reflection and self-discovery. Consider reading a new book, taking an online course, or maybe learning to jog, swim, or paint. Let this be a time when you tap into your inner genius and explore possibilities.
This needn’t be a time that stops you in your tracks or limits you in any way. This is a time to consider new possibilities.
When you connect to yourself and the truth within, you won’t have time to notice what others are doing or not doing. Self-reflection is about you and no one else.
If you’re going to use your fingers when looking outside of yourself, bring your hands together and point them towards the sky, place them on your heart in appreciation, or…put them in your pockets.
Though it may be easy to point fingers at someone who’s not following the rules, or join in conversations about how bad things are and how no one is taking this serious enough, pay attention and focus on what you have control over. Your thoughts and your actions.
Negative banter serves no purpose. If choosing to be positive, then send out positive thoughts and engage in positive conversations. Beyond that, honor what is right for you and let the rest be. What someone else is doing is not your responsibility.
Connect to Self.
As I shared earlier, nature is the best way to stay connected to yourself.
Find a quiet moment alone outside. Maybe grab a tea or coffee at your favorite drive-thru and then park your car someplace peaceful. Take some time to journal, sing, or even dance.
You Can Create Greatness in Your Life, no matter what is going on around you.
Stay True to YourSelf
